Introduction to IB PYP

January 22, 2013 Leave a comment Go to comments

Last month I was able to attend an Introduction class by Wanda Sutton of Midland Elementary School. Wanda warned us that we were to be overwhelmed. While I learned a lot, I was excited that I was not overwhelmed. Woodmen-Roberts Elementary has Aimee Dyrek leading our IB coordination and I was well prepared and ready to learn about the IB model. There are 5 key elements in the IB Model. Concepts, Skills, Attitudes, Action, and Knowledge.  I have been trying to finish a Prezi that explains it all. Right now it is still running around in my brain. The PYP model is great for elementary schools to follow. It is an integrated approach to teaching and it works well if done correctly. Look for my future post on the IBY Explained.
